Objects in the museum

The museum building was built in 1891 as the town granary. Originally there were two granaries. In the 1950s, the loan granary business ceased, and one of the granaries was converted into a museum.

A museum committee established for the 1953 agricultural exhibition gathered a large collection of artefacts from countryside. They were donated as museum objects to the town in the mid-1980s by the Suonenjoki Farmers’ Association. The museum has also objects that have more recently been donated by private individuals.
